Wesley Batista Filho is next in line to lead JBS, the world’s largest meat producer, although there is still no timetable for succession. The grandson of José Batista Sobrinho - whose initials gave his name to the company he founded - and son of former CEO Wesley Batista, Wesley Filho began his career at JBS on the night shift at a cattle slaughterhouse in the US when he was 19 years old. In 2022 he was named president of global operations. Now, at 31, he has taken over as CEO of JBS USA, the company’s major U.S. unit. Sources told Bloomberg News that he was chosen to straighten out operations at JBS USA, with the aim of improving the industrial performance of the U.S. units as well.
