Marcelo Batistela, an agricultural engineer, is vice president of Basf’s agricultural solutions division in Brazil and has been with the company since 2003. From 2019 to 2023, he served in Germany as the group’s global vice president of business excellence. The group’s agribusiness division had revenues of more than 10 billion euros (US$10,950) in 2022, with solutions such as pesticides and fertilizers, among others. The company has been betting on digitalization as a way to leverage sales, especially in a traditional sector such as agribusiness.
