Jorge Luiz de Freitas has chaired the board of directors of Intelbras since 2005, after having been CEO for 25 years. With a degree in business administration, he joined the company founded by his grandparents in Santa Catarina in 1976, which operates in the security, communication and energy solutions market. The family remains the parent company. After its IPO in February 2021, Intelbras accelerated its expansion process. In 2022, the company posted net revenues of R$4.23 billion (US$864 million) and net income of R$479.2 million (US$98 million). Intelbras recently put into operation a new fiber optic cable and network plant, which involved investments of 60 million reais (US$12.2 million).
