Siblings João Adibe Marques and Karla Marques Felmanas are majority shareholders of Cimed, one of Brazil’s largest pharmaceutical companies, and children of founder João Castro Marques, who died in 2022. João Adibe is CEO and Karla is vice-president. In 2022, the company had consolidated net revenues of 1.9 billion reais (US$388 million) and net income of 223.6 million reais (US$45.6 million). The company focuses mainly on the production and sale of generic drugs, over-the-counter drugs, vitamins and food supplements, and hygiene and beauty items. With the advance in sales, Cimed has also gained market share by investing in research with its own research center in Pouso Alegre, Minas Gerais.
