She is one of the most renowned Colombian economists today for having become the third woman to have a seat on the board of directors of Banco de la República since its creation in 1991 as an independent Central Bank, and for being part of the board of directors of Enel Colombia. She recently made the news by signing an agreement with SMN Termocartagena to sell the Cartagena Thermal Power Plant and 100% of the stake it held in Sociedad Portuaria Central Cartagena S.A., the concessionaire of the port permits necessary for the operation of the plant. An agreement that will take effect as of December 1 of this year, date foreseen for the Termocartagena group to take over the administration and operation of this plant. Soto is also a member of the board of Universidad EAN and of the Investment Committee of the infrastructure fund Sumitomo - Larrain Vial; she is also a senior associate of Dattis.
