The founder and CEO of institutional investor Grupo Finaccess has maintained his status as one of the most important entrepreneurs in Spain. The former CEO of Grupo Modelo has had several reincarnations in his business route in Spain; first as a restaurant investor in AmRest and now as one of the new heavyweights in fund management firms in the country. This year, Fernández stepped down from his position as a proprietary director of AmRest (a dedicated position for large partners of a company), and became honorary chairman of the firm. This will allow him to concentrate on other initiatives, such as the entry of his Finaccess Value in the fund management market (with €1.4 billion under management), as well as other business ventures in the real estate giant Colonial, the media giant Prisa and Banco Santander.
