Altagracia Gómez has been demonstrating for several years that women can and want to break the glass ceiling that for decades has existed in the business world in Mexico. Although the president of the board of directors of Grupo Minsa is part of an industrial dynasty (the Gómez family, from Guadalajara), her participation in various companies has grown due to the talent and innovation she injects into each initiative. In addition to Minsa, one of the giants of the food industry in Mexico (with a presence in corn production), Gómez also presides over the PEO Business Group, which brings together businesses such as Dina (a leader in the heavy vehicle industry in the country), as well as the manufacture of parts for car assembly plants. In July 2023, Altagracia caused some controversy in the Mexican business world when she publicly threw her weight behind Claudia Sheinbaum’s bid to become the presidential candidate of the ruling Morena party for the 2024 elections.
