Bloomberg Línea — OpenAI’s ChatGPT is one of the most widely used generative artificial intelligence systems in the world, since its launch at the end of 2022, but users in several countries have this week been reporting failures in its operation or sudden crashes that limit its operation, until the errors are solved.
Via social networks such as X (Twitter), users have reported experiencing service failures since Tuesday, and which have continued into Thursday.
OpenAI said on Tuesday that the chatbot was experiencing a “major outage”.
Among the reports, registered by specialized page Downdetector, users pointed out that this week they have had problems logging into the platform and getting answers from the ChatGPT tool.
Users have reported more than 4,000 interruptions to ChatGPT’s functions in the last 24 hours, according to Downdetector. The most commonly reported failures are the AI chatbot’s general functioning (92% of total complaints), failure to open the website in general (7%) and access to the site (1%).
Users have the possibility of accessing various tools that allow them to find out if the website they are working on or browsing is having problems. The first step is to check if it is a problem of the user’s Internet connection, i.e., if other visited pages work well, it means that the problem is not in the server itself.
The Downdetector page is one of the most-used pages for this purpose, as it reflects the real-time reports made by users from different parts of the world, and which documents the causes of errors that are users are experiencing the most.
Other options are to resort to the official channels of the tool (OpenAI or ChatGPt), where a user can find out the latest announcements from the company regarding the update or operation of its platform.
In the event that the problem is directly related to the AI tool, patience is the best option, until the platform becomes operational again.
