Bloomberg Linea decided to remove Mauricio Claver-Carone from its list of Latin America’s 500 after the Board of Governors of the IDB voted to oust him from his position following an investigation into a relationship with a female aide.
He has been president of the IDB since October 2020. During his tenure, he has faced challenges such as the response to the crisis triggered by the Covid-19 pandemic and the global economic recovery process. Prior to that, he was Deputy Assistant to the President of the US and Senior Director for Western Hemisphere Affairs at the National Security Council. He is currently leading transformations in the institution’s business model and is seeking to move towards an IDB Invest 2.0.
