Carlos Slim is Mexico’s richest man with a fortune of around $71.1 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. His bank Inbursa is among the competitors to acquire CitiBanamex. From America Movil, the tycoon reiterated the company’s economic strength in the region by making Brazil its main market in terms of the number of customers, following the purchase of part of Oi’s mobile business. Its retail conglomerate, Grupo Sanborns, plans to delist from the Mexican Stock Exchange, while its new telecommunications infrastructure company, Sitios Latam, is preparing its debut on the Mexican stock market.
