Roberto Jatahy is president of Soma Group, a stable of fashion brands that had revenues of 5.64 billion reais (US$1.139 billion) in 2022, an increase of 32%. In 2020, the IPO of the company, which brings together brands such as Farm, Animale and Foxton, raised 1.8 billion reais (US$363.5 million). The group emerged in 2010 from the merger of retailers with women’s fashion brands Farm and Animale, aimed at the upper classes, of which Jatahy was already president. Soma bought ByNV in October 2020, the first acquisition after the IPO, and Hering, in 2021, for 5.1 billion reais (US$1.03 billion). Jatahy holds a degree in economics from PUC-Rio and is one of the creators of the Animale brand, one of the group’s main brands.
