Tarciana Medeiros is the first woman to head Banco do Brasil, an institution with more than 74.5 million customers in the country. An employee of the bank for 22 years, she assumed her first managerial position at the bank in 2002, working in the following years in the north, northeast and midwest regions of the country, in branches and retail superintendencies. The position of bank president came in January 2023. She holds a degree in business administration and postgraduate degrees in administration, business and marketing and in leadership, innovation and management. During her tenure, Medeiros has made advances in education and financial inclusion, as well as the formation of more diverse teams and leadership.
