Sylvia Coutinho

Sylvia Coutinho, a top executive in the Brazilian financial sector, has been named head of UBS in Brazil and regional leader for Latin America in 2023, following the investment bank’s acquisition of its competitor Credit Suisse in Switzerland. With the integration of operations, UBS overtook JPMorgan Chase as the largest wealth manager in Latin America. She joined UBS in 2013 and headed its Brazilian operations for more than 10 years before taking on the new role. Prior to UBS, Sylvia Coutinho worked at HSBC, where she was responsible for Retail Banking and Wealth Management for Latin America and Asset Management for the Americas. She also worked at Citi, where she started her career and held various positions. She is also a member of the board of directors of French company Endered.
