He has been a key player in the election of the new president of Ecopetrol. In addition, he is one of President Gustavo Petro’s most trusted men, with whom he worked when Petro was mayor of Bogotá. He was also an important participant in the construction of the National Development Plan in the chapter related to cybersecurity. He is an independent member of the board of directors of Ecopetrol since October 2022, Chairman of the board of directors and chairman of its business and technology and innovation committees. He is an economist graduated from the Universidad de Los Andes in Bogotá, completed the executive management program at the Instituto de Alta Dirección Empresarial (INALDE) in Bogotá and has completed the advanced management program of the Wharton Business School of the University of Pennsylvania.
