Roberto Setubal

Roberto Setubal is co-chairman of the board of directors of Itaú Unibanco and is part of one of the most traditional families in the banking sector, brother of educator Neca Setubal. With a degree in production engineering from the University of São Paulo (USP) and a master’s degree in engineering from Stanford University, he began his career at the bank in 1980, holding various positions until being appointed CEO in 1994 and remaining in the bank’s leadership until 2016. He is a founding member of the executive committee of the Itaú Social Foundation, which develops education initiatives in partnership with UNICEF and other NGOs.
