Rachel Maia founded her business consultancy, RM Consulting, in 2018, and has since acted as a management consultant for several major companies, such as Vale and CVC. With a degree in accounting from FMU, Maia was already CFO of Tiffany & Co, CEO of Pandora and CEO of Lacoste in Brazil, positions she held for about 19 years in total. In 2023, she was elected chair of the UN Global Compact board in Brazil, the first Black woman to assume the position.
