Piero Coen Ubilla is CEO of Grupo Coen, a business conglomerate founded by his father, Piero Coen Montealegre with operations in Nicaragua, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Costa Rica, and Mexico. In 2023 Coen Ubilla has been in the news for suffering persecution by the regime led by Daniel Ortega. At the end of June, the Nicaraguan government confiscated the businessman’s assets. Coen is currently in charge of leading the business conglomerate in the transition to new generation management and institutionalization, continuing his father’s legacy. His duties include defining and implementing the group’s integrated business strategy and establishing long-term partnerships in line with the growth strategy. Piero was the first operator of AirPak, Western Union, in Central America.
