Lionel Messi, the leader of Argentina’s national soccer team, recently joined Inter Miami after signing a multi-million dollar contract that soccer fans hope will mark a turning point in the U.S. Messi’s contract with Inter Miami runs through 2025, with a base salary of US$20 million per year that could reach US$60 million with bonuses. In turn, after his retirement, Messi will receive a minority stake in the team. The star also has an agreement whereby he will benefit from the streaming service and it is estimated that he could generate two million accounts abroad for 18 months. Outside the sports arena, Messi also generates millionaire figures. The sportsman also ventured into the hotel world in 2017, when he acquired the MiM Hotels chain. Since then, he expanded his portfolio of properties and offers, with a focus on the premium or luxury vacation public.
