Julio Carranza Bolívar

México | Presidente | ABM & BanCoppel

He has been president of the Mexican Banking Association since March 2023 and will hold that position until March 2025. He has more than 30 years of experience in the banking sector and is chairman of the board of directors of BanCoppel. He was CEO of BanCoppel from 2007 to 2021, before joining Banco Azteca as deputy director general of market development from 2002 to 2007, and joined Citibank in 2001 as executive director of wealth management. For Julio Carranza, banking in Mexico is undergoing an acceleration towards digitization for the benefit of users, while at the same time he does not take his finger out of the pie about the “level playing field” that there should be between commercial banks and financial technology companies known as fintechs.
