He is CEO of Banco Santander as of January 1, 2023, a position from which he heads the executive operations of the Spanish bank. He has more than 30 years of experience in banking, joined Santander Mexico as executive chairman and CEO in December 2015 and four years later, in 2019, he added to his responsibilities the leadership of Santander in North America. He is currently focused on transforming the bank, simplifying the business and automating processes to be more efficient and offer a better customer experience.
