Francisco Álvarez-Demalde is co-founder and managing partner of Riverwood Capital, a California-based venture capital firm that invests in high-growth technology and technology-based companies and had US$5.9 billion in assets under management (AUM) at year-end 2021. Prior to co-founding Riverwood Capital, Alvarez-Demalde had been an investment executive at Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. (KKR) and Goldman Sachs & Co. among others. A graduate with honors in Economics, Mr. Álvarez-Demalde led investments or actively participated in the development and growth of several successful companies in North America and Latin America. He is also a member of the Board of Globant, Greenhouse, Shiphero and VTEX, and actively participates in non-profit initiatives related to education and is a global ambassador for Endeavor.
