Fábio Barbosa has been CEO of Natura&Co since June 2022. The entry into the company represented his return to the executive command of a company, after having served for two decades as president of ABN Amro Real, Santander Brasil and Grupo Abril, in addition to having been president of the Brazilian Federation of Banks (Febraban) from 2011 to 2015. The executive has been leading a restructuring at Natura&Co, which in previous years made a rapid international expansion but posted quarterly losses and weaker results in 2022 and early 2023. One of the measures taken was the sale in 2023 of Australian luxury cosmetics brand Aesop to France’s L’Óreal in a US$2.5 billion deal. The brand had been purchased by Natura in 2012. Barbosa is one of the most recognized Brazilian executives for his work and leadership in areas such as sustainability and is also a director of Itaú and Ambev.
