Elie Horn is the founder and main shareholder of Cyrela, one of the largest construction companies in Brazil, a leader in mid- and high-end residential real estate. Since 2014, he has been chairman of the board of directors, a position he also holds at Cyrela Brazil Realty and SYN (formerly Cyrela Commercial Properties), a commercial real estate company. Born in Syria, he moved to Brazil as a child. He is one of the country’s biggest philanthropists in terms of donations - he has said he will donate 60% of his wealth - and a prominent activist. In 2022, Cyrela had total net revenues of 5.4 billion reais, or US$1.11 billion (up 13% from the previous year) and net income of 809 million reais, or US$166.3 million (-11.9%).
