He stepped down as chairman of the Mexican Banking Association (ABM) in March 2023, after taking office in 2021. After leading the bankers, he turned his attention to leading Grupo Financiero Mifel, of which he has been CEO since January 2003. Bloomberg Línea revealed in March 2022 that Becker was interested in buying Banamex, but this year Citigroup announced that it decided to divest the Mexican bank through an initial public offering. Mifel marked four years in 2023 as sponsor of the Mifel Tennis Open presented by Cinemex and three years sponsoring the Pumas soccer team.
