Bruno Campos Garfinkel has been chairman of the board of directors of Grupo Porto Seguro since 2019. A graduate in business administration from the Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie, he represents the new generation of the Garfinkel family at the helm of the conglomerate formed by 27 companies, including Azul Seguros, Itaú Seguros de Auto e Residência and Porto Seguro Uruguay. In the last two years, the company has invested in new services, such as subscription-based car rental, and created the Porto Saúde and Porto Bank brands to differentiate its operating units. However, the cost of financing has increased with the rise in interest rates in the country, which has affected the profitability of companies in the sector. In 2022, net profit fell to R$1.15 billion (US$234 million), compared to R$1.54 billion (US$313 million) in the previous year.
