Maido

Lima | Peru

One of the top 30 restaurants to do business in Latin America

Why choose it: Maido offers a world-class experience and has been listed for some years as the best restaurant in Latin America in The World’s 50 Best Restaurants (although in the most recent list, it was beaten by Central, another Peruvian establishment). What is so appealing about Maido is its explosive and colorful Nikkei fusion of Peruvian and Japanese cuisines. In addition to the décor, Maido (meaning ‘Welcome’ in Japanese) offers much warmth and high-quality culinary creations, the result of the work of its chef, Mitsuharu ‘Micha’ Tsumura. Whether for lunch or dinner, many Lima entrepreneurs rub shoulders at Maido with old-timer executives or their scions.

Business tip: In order to concentrate on business talks, the ideal thing to do at Maido is to indulge in some of the experiences that ‘Micha’ brings to the table. For freshness, everything changes day by day, but the joke is to trust and order, for example, the Nikkei experience (which includes everything from sushi, sashimi, ceviches, short rib or wagyu), or Veggie, with local and imported products, but which are always fresh.

Average cost per person (without drinks): Nikkei: PEN $699 (USD 185).

Address: Ca. San Martín No. 399, Miraflores 15074, Peru.
