In June 2022, María Fernanda Garza became the first woman to preside over the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). This Mexican businesswoman made the leap from being the CEO of Orestia, a small manufacturing company, to occupying the ICC chair for a two-year term. Garza previously served as president of ICC Mexico until June 2020 and as a former member of the National Advisory Committee of the North American Agreement on Labor Cooperation. She is a board member of AliaRSE and was a member of the Corporate Responsibility Network of the Business and Industry Advisory Committee of the OECD. Garza is known for advocating business ethics and corporate governance standards.
