She is the co-founder of Casa Dragones, a premium spirit sold in Mexico and the U.S., a market where tequila overtook whiskey in sales in 2022. Last year González pushed the traditional boundaries in the development of this distillate by innovating with a product rested in Japanese Mizunara barrels. That year her product became the only tequila to be part of Art Basel in Miami. Bertha González is the first Maestra Tequilera, a distinction awarded by the Mexican Academy of Tequila Tasters. Prior to co-founding Casa Dragones in 2009, she spent more than a decade at Jose Cuervo, the world’s largest tequila company, where she held senior commercial and marketing positions, including commercial director for North America, Global Director of New Business and Innovation and Global Brand Director.
