Sergio de Andrade is chairman of Usiminas’ board of directors since March 2022, having served as the company’s CEO from 2016 to 2022. Before that, Andrade held several executive positions over a 46-year career at the company, which is one of the largest steel producers in the Americas. The executive has a degree in metallurgical engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and a master’s degree in metallurgical engineering from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG).
