Pedro Moreira Salles is the chairman of the board of directors of Itaú Unibanco, the largest private bank in Brazil. Owner of a fortune of US$ 5.5 billion, according to Bloomberg Billionaire Index, Salles comes from one of the most traditional families in the country - his grandfather, João, founded Unibanco in 1924. At the beginning of the year, he bought, together with his brother Fernando, his other two brothers’ shares in Itaú Unibanco. The deal was valued at R$59 billion, resulting in an 11% stake.
