An engineering graduate, Mario Roberto Opice Leão is the president of Santander Brazil since January 2022, the bank’s second largest operation in the world. He has worked at the Spanish bank since 2015, and for four years was the VP of corporate. Before that, he was managing director of capital markets at Morgan Stanley in Brazil from 2008 to 2015 and vice president of fixed income, currencies and commodities at two other Wall Street investment banks in Brazil, Goldman Sachs and Citi.
