Luiz Schwarcz is co-founder of Companhia das Letras, one of the largest publishing houses in the Brazilian market and part of Penguin Random House. With a degree in business administration from FGV, he began his career as an editor at Brasiliense before launching Companhia das Letras with his wife Lilia Moritz Schwarcz in 1986. The union with Objetiva in 2015 gave rise to a group with a collection of authors including Jorge Amado, Carlos Drummond de Andrade, Chico Buarque, and Ruy Castro. He has written five books.
