Ileana was appointed the first woman to lead Intel Costa Rica as a general manager in 2019. She has managed to increase the visibility of women in the STEM field in the region, and generating operational and specialized jobs, opening new operations, and positioning Costa Rica in the technology area. In September 2021, the local operation announced the first export of its processor assembly and test plant in Belen. This represented a milestone given that the operation had been closed in the country for seven years.
