Fausto Ribeiro is the president of Banco do Brasil. He took over in April 2021 after being appointed to replace André Brandão, who led the bank for six months. He has worked at the bank since 1988 and served as CEO of BB Consórcios before taking over the presidency. He was also director and executive manager for internal controls at BB in Spain. In the first half of 2022, the bank had a profit of R$14.2 billion. During this period, the bank increased its commercial funding expenses by 230%, which resulted in a 42% increase in income from credit operations.
