Eugenio Lopez Alonso’s first action as formal heir to the Grupo Jumex food and beverage emporium was to nominate Salvi Foch as CEO of the company following the retirement, after 30 years, of Luis Hurtado. López Alonso’s father, Eugenio Lopez Rodero, passed away in May of this year. With Folch’s arrival, Lopez Alonso, who chairs the Board of Directors of Jumex and the Jumex Foundation, brings fresh blood to a Mexican business institution that, together with La Costeña, another Lopez family business, has sales of more than US$1.5 billion.
