Intel appointed a woman as general manager in Costa Rica for the first time in 2019. Ever since, Rojas has managed to increase the visibility of women in the STEM field, creating operational and specialized jobs, opening new operations and making a place for the country in the technology industry. In September 2021, the local operation announced the first export from its processor assembly and test plant in Belen. It was a milestone considering that the operation had not functioned in the country for seven years.
