Bloomberg Línea announces the launch of its editorial coverage in new markets in Central and South America, as well as the Caribbean, expanding its presence in Latin America’s main economies with a digital multiplatform covering economic, business and financial news.

Less than seven months after its launch, Bloomberg Línea now has dedicated coverage in 14 countries with the addition of Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Dominican Republic, and Uruguay to its lineup of dedicated websites, quickly becoming the region’s top provider of business and financial news.

With a staff of more than 80 professionals around the Americas and Europe, Bloomberg Línea (www.bloomberglinea.com) also provides coverage of the economics and financial spheres in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Mexico, Panama, Peru, and Venezuela. The site produces content in three languages, English, Portuguese and Spanish, serving as a destination for anyone looking to learn what is happening in the region.

“There’s no one-stop-shop when it comes to high-quality content in Latin America, and our mission is to provide the best for audiences in their local languages with a local approach, hence, our expansion to new markets” said Bloomberg Línea’s COO Kaio Philipe. “This region has been underserved for years, and we are filling a long overdue gap. The drivers are there, an emerging market with a growing middle class. It is one of the fastest-growing globally.”

The new editorial staff assigned to cover the new markets have strong backgrounds. Andrea Hidalgo, formerly with local financial publication El Financiero, will be covering Costa Rica; Dolfi Gómez, a former ElDinero journalist, will cover Dominican Republic; Pablo Balcáceres, former editor with Estrategia & Negocios, is in El Salvador; Natiana Gándara a former business reporter at Prensa Libre will be responsible for Guatemala, and Gonzalo Charquero, a journalist formerly with Uruguay’s El País, will cover this market.

“We want to focus our coverage on the news that matters, the content that moves markets, and the stories that show that, among emerging economies, Latin America has a lot to tell,” said Alejandro Ángeles, Bloomberg Línea’s Pan American News Director. “The stories we’ll follow are those no one is covering in the region, with a special emphasis on local startups on their way to becoming unicorns, the crypto scene in these countries, and how the new ways of connecting people for business and work are exploding there.”

Bloomberg Línea is a partnership between Bloomberg Media and Falic Media and officially launched in August 2021. The sites have already surpassed 2 million visits monthly, growing double digits month over month since its launch. In addition to the sites, the venture has launched four podcasts, which are figuring among the most listened in the region under the Business category (La Estrategia del Día) on platforms like Spotify, and two Web Series. It is distributing content on major social media platforms with the handles @bloomberglinea and @bloomberglineabrasil, reaching almost 200K followers in the period.
