- Company: Casa Brugal
- Country: Dominican Republic
Casa Brugal, an icon of the Dominican Republic founded in 1888, is the fourth largest rum producer in the world and leads the local market with more than 70% of production. Although since 2008 most of its shares are controlled by the Scottish firm Edrington, Brugal has not left its mark in its country of origin, all under the command of the current president, Augusto Ramírez. Brugal’s current rum masters have to be heirs of the founding family and they are credited with launching what is considered the best rum in the world, Papá Andrés.
