On August 10, Bloomberg Línea officially lands in Latin America and the Caribbean as a multimedia platform focused on business and finance news and reports aimed at entrepreneurs, decision-makers, and local leaders. This new initiative is the result of a partnership between Bloomberg Media and Panama-based Falic Media.
On Tuesday, Kaio Philipe, Chief Operating Officer (COO), and Carlos Rodríguez, Executive Producer and liaison with Bloomberg LP, said at a press conference from Miami that Bloomberglinea.com will bring together the most important news from the region. The platform will initially include News multimedia platforms and websites from Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Peru, Venezuela, Brazil, Mexico, and Panama. Bloomberg Linea dedicated teams will produce content with a local flair and address regional and global topics from their locations.
“This is an alliance of Bloomberg, an authority on global news who has been in the market for more than 30 years, in partnership with Falic Media, a group that has a strong presence in Latin America. Joining forces to serve more than 600 million people in the region,” said Philipe.
Coverage will be in Spanish, Portuguese and English and will focus mainly on business, but also on global information, culture, finance, markets, technology, lifestyle, politics and science. Bloomberg Línea will also have material translated into Spanish and Portuguese from Bloomberg.
“We want to deliver news and facts. There’s not going to be a lot of right-wing or left-wing opinions. We want people to see news from all their neighbors throughout the region, objective information. That’s what we want to do,” explained Leon Falic, Falic Media’s CEO from the company’s headquarters in Panama.
In addition to the websites, the content will be available on social networks such as Instagram, TikTok, Youtube, Twitter, Facebook, Spotify, and LinkedIn.
Rodríguez said that “the editorial line of Bloomberg Línea will be the same philosophy of Bloomberg News, which is to focus on objective, impartial journalism, based on data and facts”.
Users will have the option to purchase a premium subscription with unlimited access to Bloomberg Linea information and services. They will choose between a $10 monthly membership or an annual fee of $100. Free content will be limited to summarized videos and partial texts.
